Do you worry about the germs in your sponges? Give this a try…

Lea’s Sponge Freshener

In a 5 ounce squeeze bottle (I like the one pictured with a small opening) add the following:

  • 4 ounces white vinegar
  • 1/2 ounce castile soap (I added Dr. Bronner’s Eucalyptus, but you can use any kind you like)
  • 30 drops Peppermint essential oil
  • 30 drops Tea Tree essential oil
  • 30 drops Lemon essential oil

Shake well to combine the soap and vinegar. The EOs will float on the surface when not in use. That’s OK :) Just shake well before squeezing a bit on your sponge.

I like to add this Sponge Freshener at night after using the sponge, while it’s still wet. I use 3-4 times per week.

Alternately, you can use a spray bottle and spray your sponge nightly.

Enjoy!
