I have been using the peroxide/vinegar (two separate bottles) to wash my produce (and even my poultry!) for about 14 years now, maybe longer.
But after reading the DIY Non-Toxic Cleaning Recipes ebook by Mommypotamus, I decided to include some EOs in my vinegar bottle…
First, why separate bottles?
Hydrogen peroxide and vinegar, individually, do a great job of killing organisms. When used one right after another they are a powerhouse! Do not mix them, as they do not work well when mixed together.
To boost the vinegar, I added the following essential oils to a 6 ounce spray bottle:
- 15 drops Tea Tree EO
- 10 drops Lemon EO
- 5 drops Cinnamon Bark EO
I personally use the vinegar first, then peroxide, and then rinse - but you can really use them in any order.
