If you are seeing varicose veins or spider veins creeping in (so to speak) on your legs, you’ll want to give this recipe a try. It feels nice and tingly when it goes on, stimulating that circulation!
You don’t have you use a bottle like this with a screw-on cap. Although I did find it easy to unscrew and pour a tablespoon or so in the palm of my hand before applying, you could certainly use a lotion pump or lotion capped jar instead.
This is is almost a 2% dilution. To read more about dilutions, visit our Properly Diluting Essential Oils page.
| Lea’s Lovely Legs (varicose veins recipe) To 1 ounce of jojoba add:
*IMPORTANT NOTE: Cold pressed Bergamot is phototoxic when more than 1 drop per ounce is used, such as in this recipe. In the cooler months, when your legs are not exposed to the sun, there is no risk of phototoxicity. However, in the summer months you will need to use just 1 drop (not 2) for this recipe unless you use a furanocoumarin/bergapten-free Bergamot, which has no phototoxic risk. I bought mine on Tropical Traditions. Read more about phototoxicity here: Phototoxicity - How to Stay Safe in the Sun. To use, simply apply to your legs, or other problem areas not exposed to the sun (unless you use just 1 drop Bergamot in this recipe, or the furanocoumarin/bergapten-free Bergamot). As always, if you use this daily for more than 2-3 weeks in a row, please take a break for a week to lessen your chances of sensitization. Alternately, you can use 2-3 times a week long-term. |
This recipe makes 1 ounce of Lovely Legs, but you can definitely double or triple the recipe as needed. I made up an ounce as part of my aromatherapy certification, and totally loved this combination of essential oils. I taped my label on, and as you can see, it was very much enjoyed
