HADcelebrationimage HAPPY AROMATHERAPY DAY!

I know, it’s not until next week (June 15th). But I just couldn’t WAIT to share with you the goodies we are giving away! Plus, you will have all week to take advantage of the coupon codes made JUST for you, as supporters of LAEO!

If you are a member of our Using Essential Oils Safely group on facebook, you will know we recently reached 20,000 members (book giveaway for that milestone here). So this really is a week-long celebration!

To make this week special, I thought I would highlight some of my favorite people and places in aromatherapy, as I reveal the freebies and exclusive discount codes…

Robert Tisserand

unnamed We would not be where we are today without Robert Tisserand. I mean “we” as in our FB group, this website, and aromatherapy in general. It’s difficult to say where aromatherapy would be in the United States if not for Robert bringing it here. Writing the first book on aromatherapy in the English language, Robert Tisserand is the world’s foremost expert in aromatherapy and essential oil research. He is the go-to for all things safety in the EO world. Robert literally wrote the book on essential oil safety, aptly titled. . . Essential Oil Safety with co-author Rodney Young. Although this second edition was released in November of 2013, the popularity of his book has already left the publisher out of stock (more to arrive in a few weeks).

Abbreviated timeline of accomplishments (full timeline and awards listed here):

And many many more, too numerous to list! I hear he gets treated like a rock star when he visits Japan, he often is addressed as “Dr. Robert Tisserand,” and some consider Robert to be the Father of Modern Aromatherapy.

So you can understand how grateful we are that Robert graciously pops into our FB group from time to time!

You can read more about Robert here, find Robert on his Facebook page, Robert Tisserand Essential Training, and visit his educational and informative website. Be sure to subscribe to his newsletter!

Alliance of International Aromatherapists

AIAlogo The Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2006. AIA serves as a resource for its members, as well as the public, in helping to build successful practices and expand the body of aromatherapy research. AIA is the first organization to launch its School Recognition Program in 2009, establishing the most comprehensive educational standards for Clinical Aromatherapists.

I had the pleasure of attending their 2013 pre-conference, and what a wonderful group of people. I am currently a Professional-level member and a volunteer for the publications committee.

You can get a FREE aromatherapy book, “Using Aromatherapy for Powerful Networking” when you subscribe to their newsletter. Look for the green “get it now” button on the left side of their website.

Read more about AIA here, visit their website, and join their Facebook page. Also please consider joining as a member: AIA Membership. Membership is not just for professionals - anyone can join.

Aromahead Institute

aromaheadlogo I guarantee you this website would not exist without Aromahead Institute! Andrea has been a wonderful teacher and mentor during (and after) my education through her school. I graduated from the Scholar’s Program, which includes the Aromatherapy Certification Program, the Advanced Graduate Program, plus additional hours of education. It was a great ride! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Aromahead is a wonderful school approved by both AIA and NAHA - it’s not easy being approved by one, not to mention both! No wonder AIA chose Andrea as the recipient of their Lifetime Achievement award in 2013 :D

When I told Andrea about our Happy Aromatherapy Day celebration, she wanted to help! Here is what she is giving you (no coupon needed!)…

Everyone who registers for the Aromatherapy for Natural Living class ($275) will receive two bonuses: a $50 gift certificate to Aromatics International, PLUS free registration to the Body Butters and Lip Balms class, a $225 value. That is a $550 value for just $275!

A little bit about each class…The Aromatherapy for Natural Living class is perfect for moms and families new to essential oils. Topics covered: intro to essential oils, using essential oils with your children (even little ones!), how to make your own cleaners using essential oils, and even luscious creams and balms to pamper your skin. This course has it all, and is affordable to boot! The Body Butters and Lip Balms course will teach you how to make fail-safe body butters, lip balms, deodorants, and more. Everyone can enjoy this course, especially if you like knowing what is in your body care products, or if you have sensitive skin. Also makes for great gifts. You could even open your own online store with the knowledge you gain from this course.

Don’t miss out on the incredible offer from Aromahead! This offer is good from today, June 8th, until our official Happy Aromatherapy day, June 15th.

Please visit Aromahead’s website and sign up for the newsletter, register for the FREE introduction course, like their Facebook page, and visit Andrea on YouTube!

Aromatics International

Founded by Aromahead’s Andrea Butje (although she is no longer the owner), Aromatics International (AI) is a wonderful resource for essential oils. They have tested well in our tests - and I’m not surprised! Karen Williams, the current owner, posts all the GC/MS reports for each essential oil, right on the essential oil profile page. She even has archives available! Aromatics International is the only website I am aware of who provides GC/MS reports like this. Two thumbs up!

June 15th is a special day for AI as well. This is the day that begins their animal clinic with Caroline Ingraham! Caroline Ingraham is an animal care expert who uses essential oils and herbal remedies. If you are interested in the clinic, read more about it here: AI Animal Clinic.

You can get 10% off any order by using the discount code “leaharris” (no quotes) when you check out.

Code is good from today, June 8th, until our official Happy Aromatherapy day, June 15th.

Check out Aromatics International’s website, like their Facebook page where you can find recipes, and more.

Wingsets

wingsets_logo Another aromatherapy veteran is Ann McIntire Wooledge, who runs and operates Wingsets. Ann frequents our Facebook group, spending hours a week offering her wisdom as she answers many questions. With a background in nursing, Ann’s passion has always been to help people heal using nutrition, aromatherapy, and natural products. Today she crafts controlled fresh batches of paraben-free, products which include certified organic ingredients from recipes she has created after much extensive research (sometimes taking weeks!). I personally have used several of her products, including her Herbal Insect Deterrent Spray (no DEET!) and Calendula Chamomile All Purpose Herbal Balm., with great success.

You can get 10% off any order with code “AROMADAY15″ (no quotes).

Code is good from today, June 8th, until our official Happy Aromatherapy day, June 15th.

Plant Therapy

Plant-Therapy We have come to really love Plant Therapy. When they received news that their Tea Tree was found not in compliance, it was a wake-up call. Committed to providing a very high quality product, they were shocked that their Tea Tree did not pass, and they took action. (You can read their initial response here). They immediately removed and replaced their entire stock of Tea Tree, at a cost of over 50K, and insisted we re-test their new batch of Tea Tree at their expense (it was found in compliance and you can find results here). Plant Therapy has since then hired an expert to go over all their essential oils and make any necessary adjustments. Read: Statement from Plant Therapy regarding our impact on their business and what they are doing about it. They are always one of the very few companies I recommend when I am asked.

Receive $10 off any order $30 or more with code “aromatherapyday” (no quotes).

Only one coupon per customer, and cannot be used toward the purchase of gift certificates. Code is good from today, June 8th, until our official Happy Aromatherapy day, June 15th.

Visit Plant Therapy’s website, blog, and their Facebook page. You can also purchase Plant Therapy essential oils (and more) on amazon.

Aura Cacia

Our first 3rd party testing was for Myrrh essential oil. Aura Cacia‘s $15 bottle of Myrrh beat out other brands priced between $69 and $85. Boy were we impressed! We applaud Aura Cacia for offering a quality product that is also affordable.

Here is the prize Aura Cacia offered to donate as we celebrate Aromatherapy Day…

A set of Aura Cacia Organic Chakra Roll-Ons (a $110+ value)! Enter to win by using the Rafflecopter widget at the end of this post.

Be sure to check out their Scents of Balance online journey!

Visit their website for essential oils, recipes, and more. Like them on Facebook. You can also find their products on amazon.

MORE freebies!

Yes, we have more goodies in store!

Rivertree Life has donated three elegant aromatherapy inhalers! I decided to split these up so three of you can win one! They sent me one to keep for myself, and my kids are already fighting over who gets it (um, I am Mommy, I do! ;) ).

You can find these, and other aromatherapy goodies on their website, as well as red inhalers, purple inhalers, and a 6pk of inhalers on amazon.

I am personally giving away two $10 coupon codes to Vitacost. A happy customer for 15 years, I buy Aura Cacia essential oils and carrier oils, as well as bulk herbs and supplements here.

  1. All of the fabulous things that you are giving away are just amazing and would be a blessing to our household. We are new to essential oils - there is so much to learn. I particularly like the selection of Chakra oils. What a lovely way to celebrate Aromatherapy Day! (I had no idea there *was* such a thing - but very happy to have found out!!)
